Depression can feel like a dark fog hanging over your day; just getting out of bed can be exerting; everyday tasks, like showering and getting dressed, feel like moving a boulder.

It might be that maintaining connection with friends and family feels like too much effort. Things that used to be fun are now meaningless, as emotional numbness takes over.

A feeling of detachment can set in—a sense of ‘I’ll never be normal again’. Even on better days there is a constant, unrelenting weight of low self-esteem.

You may be wondering “Will I always feel like this?”

It is very painful to live like that. The hardest part can be admitting—even just to yourself—that you need help.

But once you get the right help, your life can change for the better.
